I would like to say Hi to all the people connected with this particular thread. My name is ............... and I work with this wonderful team of people in the capacity of Public Relations. May I start by stating that this page and that of the website www.olagola.com are the platforms from which the company delivers support to all the members. The company is a not for profit organisation registered under the Sovereign rules of the Republic Of Ireland's Companies Registration Office. 490701 is our Official company number. In order to achieve this status we have to go through the rigorous process of the Irish governments’ registration processes.
This page / site are in existence since May of 2010 the organisation consists of proper businesslike structure with different people having responsibility to look after various elements.
The phenomenal speed and growth of the page in such a short space of time has proven to present an enormous task of project management and we are delighted to say that the continued exponential growth of the page is an example of the successful application of that project management. We are working very hard to build ever improving structure, in order to continue to offer a safe and secure environment to our members. As part of the capacity building within our organisation, we have met with a number of other Irish based organisations who themselves are working in the space of Suicide prevention support and other aspects of affected mental health conditions, and we will continue to build partnership with all organisations who work in mental health services. We will continue to meet and build partnership with both Irish and International organisations in order to share learned experiences with each other.
There is much more that could be said in order to bring clarity as to who we are as an organisation and we will bring as much information in that regard to our website in the coming weeks as part of our ongoing improvements in building our website.
To date, we as a legally registered Irish organisation of people who have worked '' In conjunction '' with our members. Have done so in a true, honest and as transparent a manner as possible.
The varied levels of qualifications needed by our '' Admins '' range from ASIST trained to varied levels of psychotherapy and counselling. We work and are supported also in our efforts by the Garda ( the Irish law enforcement agency ) who look after the vetting of all our administrators. Our contact with many international law enforcement agencies has also been warmly welcomed.
New Social mediums are very much in their infancy and we welcome the caution expressed by some people. These new mediums are however the vehicles that are proving to be the choice of our members to use as their preferred way to communicate their issues. Our page started as an Irish experience and as we have operated in such a true and transparent manner, people from around the globe have shared their trust with us based on the comfort levels they feel. The phenomenon of using Social Media to communicate their issues is quite new for many of our members and yet it is the peer support nature of the page experience that is one of the main reasons for its wonderful success.
We really appreciate the interest in the site from all interests including those who express concerns about web based interaction in the area of mental health. It is through these contributions of valued comments, positive and concerned that we will fine tune our platform of support moving forward.
By taking a member centric approach at all times, we hope to enrich the experience for people who use the service. We are pro-actively engaging with as many agencies as is possible on an Irish and International level and this is also shaping our decision making process as we move forward.
I hope this interim level of information is valuable to those who have an interest in what we do.
We will be delighted to share our forthcoming News releases on the website and I would ask all who read this post to please bear in mind that the huge amount of work that has gone into the overall background to fully administrate this project so far has been done completely on a Voluntary basis. No person has received remuneration for their efforts. We have received no funding and we are just starting on this process. So in conclusion, much has been achieved so far and we look forward to playing a part in the overall world wide team of organisations who are working so hard to help people with mental health issues.
